Today in Tech History (January 11, 2020): Westport Tech Museum Begins!

Westport Tech Museum is turning 4 years old today!
Westport Tech Museum was started on January 11, 2020 when Jay decided to display the 10 phones he found in his basement. It started with 10 phones displayed on a shelf in his room with handwritten, index card signs. It quickly moved locations to a bigger room, and became a museum of more than just technology. It was shown after 2 1/2 weeks to friends at the 2020 Super Bowl. Soon, the tech museum was moved to the attic. It used minimal space in the big attic. This time, the museum had gone back to just technology. Between February and July 2020, the tech museum switched between having just tech and having other collectibles and tech. It also moved back and forth from the attic and the old room. Between the summers of 2020 and 2021, Westport Tech Museum really grew and had taken over most of the attic. In August 2021, WTM had their first showing to friends and family since February 2020. The tech museum has continued to grow since then, with new items being added continuously. Today, Westport Tech Museum has OVER 400 ITEMS! The museum has also been featured in many News outlets including Dan Woog's "06880", Connecticut Post, Norwalk Hour, The Lisa Wexler Show on WICC radio, and News 12 Connecticut.
