Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. He was adopted by Paul & Clara Jobs and raised in Palo Alto, California. It was in his parents garage where him, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne (who sold his shares a week later for $800), started Apple Computer, Inc. Apple launched the personal computer revolution with the Apple II in 1977, and Jobs was a big part of the development of the Macintosh (released in 1984). Come 1985, Jobs was forced out of Apple after a fight with John Sculley, and went on to start NeXT Computer, Inc. with some former Apple employees. Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, following their acquisition of NeXT and became CEO until just before his death. Steve Jobs died from complications of pancreatic cancer in October 2011 at age 56.
