This Month in Advertising History (November 1995): Coca-Cola Premiered Their Iconic "The Holidays are Coming" Commercial!

In November 1995, the now-iconic Coca-Cola holiday advertising campaign - "The Holidays are coming!" - debuted on televisions across the United States. The advertisement featured a convoy of red delivery trucks, featuring the Coca-Cola logo and decorated with Christmas lights, driving through a snowy highway and city. The ad aired every year until 2001, when it fell into disuse after the company restructured its campaigns so that every country's ads were produced locally. The ad made a comeback in 2007, though, when many consumers called into the company's information center asking for it to return as they considered it the "start of Christmas". The ad has been used as part of Coca-Cola's annual Holiday season advertising campaigns since.
