Today in Computer History (April 11, 1976): Apple Releases the Apple I Computer!

On April 11, 1976, Apple Computer, who was just 10 days old, released the Apple I personal computer - their first product. To finance the development of the Apple I, Apple Co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, sold some of their personal belongings. Wozniak famously sold his HP calculator. Only about 200 Apple I's sold in its lifetime, most famously through The Byte Shop, Apple's first retailer. The computer sold for an ominous price of $666.66, and was discontinued in September 1977, with the release of the Apple II.
