On August 13th, 1982, the Amy Heckerling-directed film, "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was released to U.S. theaters. Starring big names such as Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates, and others. This film was also Nicolas Cage's feature film debut. "Fast Times" went on to gross $27.1-50 million in the box office on a $5 million budget. In 2005, it was selected for preservation in the US National Film Registry.
