On December 23rd, 1993, the first "Veggietales" film was released on VHS! "Veggietales" was created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki under Big Idea Entertainment, and stars Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber leading a variety of fruit and vegetable characters as they retell stories from the Bible and parody pop culture. The franchise is often cited as one of the earliest computer-animated franchises, and was first released as a direct-to-video series on VHS, and was later released on DVD and Blu-ray to 2015.
