On July 18th, 1986, the sequel to the 1979 film, "Alien", "Aliens", was released to U.S. theaters. Directed by James Cameron, the production of the film was famously difficult, marked by a "mutiny" from the British crew at Pinewood Studios who were skeptical of the relatively unknown Cameron. Despite this, the film was a massive critical and commercial success, grossing over $180 million and earning seven Academy Award nominations.
