On July 27th, 1940, Bugs Bunny made his official first appearance in the Looney Tunes cartoon, "Wild Hare". Bugs Bunny had made an appearance in "Porky's Hare Hunt" on April 30th, 1938, but he was not in his official version. Originally voiced by the "Man of 1,000 voices" himself, Mel Blanc, Bugs Bunny quickly became the popular mascot of the "Looney Tunes" cartoons and one of the most iconic cartoon characters of all time. Bugs went on to star in more than 160 short films produced between 1940 and 1964, and also appeared in feature films, television shows, comics, and other forms of media. Bugs Bunny has also appeared in more films than any other cartoon character, and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
