Today in Film History (July 3rd, 1991): James Cameron's "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" is Released to U.S. Theaters!

On July 3rd, 1991, the James Cameron film, "Terminator 2: Judgement Day", was released in the United States. Starring Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Robert Patrick, it had a production budget of nearly $102 million, making it the most expensive film ever made at the time. "Terminator 2" is also credited for including the first use of a computer-generated main character in a blockbuster film. Upon release, the film grossed around $520 million in the box-office to become the highest-grossing film of 1991, and the third highest-grossing film of the time. Today, "T2" is often considered to be one of the greatest sequels ever made, and one of the rare sequels that is better than the original film. It is also considered to be one of the greatest sci-fi and action films ever made.
