On June 11th, 1986, the John Hughes film, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" was released to theaters across the United States. Starrng Mattew Broderick, Mia Sara, and Alan Ruck in starring roles, it went on to gross $70.7 million in the box-office on a $5 million production budget, becoming the tenth-highest-grossing film of 1986 in the United States. In 2014, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress.
