On June 29th, 2007, Pixar's "Ratatouille" was released to theaters across the United States. Directed by Brad Bird, it first premiered at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California, on June 22nd, 2007. Upon release, the film became a critical and commercial success, grossing $623.7 million worldwide on a $150 million production budget. It became the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2007, and the second-highest-grossing animated film of the year, behind only "Shrek the Third". "Ratatouille" also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as being nominated for many other awards.
