Today in Film History (June 4th, 1982): "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" is Released to U.S. Theaters!

"KHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!"

On June 4th, 1982, the second "Star Trek" motion picture, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" was released to theaters across the United States. The film served as the sequel to the "Star Trek: The Original Series" 1967 episode, "Space Seed", and follows the next adventures between the crew of the Starship Enterprise and the villian Khan Noonien. "The Wrath of Khan" became a box-office success, earning $97 million worldwide, as well as setting a world record for first-day box office gross. Today, "The Wrath of Khan" is often considered the best film in the "Star Trek" series.
