On March 30th, 1988, Tim Burton's comedy horror film, "Beetlejuice" was released in the United States. The film stars Michael Keaton in the title role, as well as Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffery Jones, Catherine O'Hara, and Winona Ryder in supporting roles. "Beetlejuice" became a commercial and critical success, grossing over $84 million in the box office on a $15 million budget. It won the Academy Award for Best Makeup, and spawned a franchise which consists of an animated TV series, video games, a stage musical, and a sequel film, "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice", which was released in September 2024.
