On November 2nd, 2001, Pixar's "Monster's Inc." was released to theaters across the United States. Starring John Goodman and Billy Crystal as Mike and Sully, respectively, the film first premiered at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on October 28th, 2001. Upon release, "Monster's Inc." received commercial success and critical acclaim, grossing over $528 million worldwide on a $115 million production budget. The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "If I Didn't Have You", and was nominated for Best Animated Feature, but lost to Dreamwork's "Shrek". The success of the film led to a sequel in 2013 - "Monster's University".
