Today in Pop-Culture History (January 30th, 1969): The Beatles Perform Their Last Public Concert on the Rooftop of Apple Records!

On January 30th, 1969, iconic rock band, The Beatles, had their last live performance. The band famously performed on the rooftop of their Apple Corps studios headquarters in London, and were joined by keyboardist Billy Preston. The Beatles performed for 42 minutes until the Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene and ordered them to reduce the volume. They performed nine takes of five new songs for crowds of onlookers, with the most iconic being "Get Back", which was featured on their final studio album, "Let It Be" a year later. The Beatles officially broke up in April 1970.
