On March 25th, 1983, Michael Jackson unveiled the "Moonwalk" during the television special, "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" in front of a live audience at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Although the dance had been around since as early as the 1930s, the dance became world famous after the television special aired. "Moonwalking" quickly became widely recognized, and from then on, it became Jackson's signature dance move for his song "Billie Jean".
