On June 16th, 1963, the Russian spaceflight, Vostok 6, lifted off carrying Valentina Tereshkova, who would become the first woman in space. Vostok 6 set a record for highest orbital inclination of a crewed spacecraft at 65 degrees, a record not broken until the 90 degree polar orbit of Fram2 nearly 62 years later. The Vostok 6 landing site coordinates are in Barnaul, Altai, Russia, which now houses a small park at the roadside and a statue of Tereshkova.
