Today in Tech History (April 4th, 1972): The First LED Digital Watch was Released!

On April 4th, 1972, Hamilton released the Pulsar Time Computer, the first LED digital watch! Unveiled in 1970, the luxury watch featured an 18-karat gold case, and sold for a whopping $2,100, which was quite high at the time. The Pulsar Time Computer featured a solid-state LED display that lit up and showed the time when a button was pressed, and required no moving parts.
