Today in Tech History (January 19, 1983): The Apple Lisa is Introduced!

On January 19, 1983, Apple Computer introduced the original Apple Lisa computer. Essentially the first test of the Macintosh (released in 1984), the Lisa was the first commercial personal computer to feature a graphical user interface (GUI) and a mouse - two features that were featured on the Macintosh computer a year later. Directed towards the business market, the Lisa cost a whopping $9,995 at release! Due to the high price, the Lisa was an eventual commercial failure, but was very influential in the development of the Macintosh line.
