On October 10, 1980, Japanese video game company, Midway, released the soon-to-be-world-famous video game, "Pac-Man" in North America. Although originally released in Japan as "Puck-Man", the game didn't take off until being released in the United States. Pac-Man became the first true mega-hit video game in history, staring Pac-Man Fever and the release of many Pac-Man themed products including cereal, an animated cartoon, and even a hit song by Buckner & Garcia. Today, Pac-Man is considered one of the most influential games in history!
