Today in Television History (December 7, 1969): Frosty the Snowman Airs on CBS!

On December 7, 1969, the holiday TV special, "Frosty the Snowman", aired on CBS for the first time! The film was based on the classic song of the same name. It aired immediately after the fifth showing of "A Charlie Brown Christmas", but both films received good reviews. Voices included comedian Jimmy Durante, who famously covered the song in 1950. Durante was one of the first artists to record the song, and he re-recorded the song after the film's airing.
