On February 1st, 2004, during the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show, the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" occurred. While singing the final line of his song, "Rock Your Body", Justin Timberlake tore off a piece of Janet Jackson's costume, exposing her right breast for a split second, before CBS's camera crew cut to a wide shot of the halftime show stage, and then of the whole stadium. The incident led CBS to a record $550,000 fine from FCC, and led to an immediate crackdown on perceived indecency in broadcasting. The incident is also the most watched, recorded, and replayed television moment in TiVo history, and led an estimated 35,000 new TiVo subscribers to sign up.
