On January 10th, 1999, the first episode of "The Sopranos" aired on HBO. The series was created by David Chase, and is often considered one of the greatest and most influential television shows of all time, as well as being credited for kickstarting the Second Golden Age of Television. Having been greenlit in 1997, the series aired on HBO from January 10th, 1999 to June 10th, 2007, with six seasons and a total of 86 episodes. The series was very well-received, and won multiple awards including Peabody Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards. In 2016 and 2022, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked "The Sopranos" as the greatest TV show of all time.
