On May 16th, 2013, NBC aired the final episode of the American version of "The Office". The finale saw the reappearance of many of the past employees at Dunder Mifflin, especially Michael Scott. The reappearance of Steve Carell as Michael Scott was kept secret for many months and went uncredited. The episode was viewed by 5.69 million viewers during its initial airing, and obtained a 3.0 rating among adults between the ages of 18 and 49. Many critics praised the finale for its writing, which wrapped up every character's story to perfection. The finale received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and won for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series.
