On September 14th, 1985, the first episode of the iconic 1980s television show, "The Golden Girls", aired on NBC! The show was created by Susan Harris, and starred Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty as the main characters. "The Golden Girls" was critically-acclaimed throughout its whole run, and won several awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series twice! It also won three Golden Globe Awards, and each of the four stars received an individual Emmy, making it one of only four sitcoms in history to achieve this. The sitcom is widely regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time, with the final of 180 episodes in seven season airing on May 9th, 1992.
