On September 22nd, 1987, "Full House" premiered on ABC. Created by Jeff Franklin, it stars Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candance Cameron, Jodie Sweeten, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Initially, the show had low ratings in its first season, ranking #71 on the Nielsen charts. However by season 5, the show had reached the top 10. As the show's popularity skyrocketed, the cast's salaries were among the highest on television. The Olsen Twins salary raised from $4,000 per episode in the first season to over $80,000 per episode by the end, making them some of the wealthiest children in the world. Throughout its run of 192 episodes, the show never won, and was rarely even nominated for, a Primetime Emmy Award. The series finale aired on May 23rd, 1995, and was watched by approximately 24.3 million viewers. The show was still popular at the time, but it was canceled primarily due to the rising production costs and high licensing fees Warner Bros. was charging ABC. "Full House" has become one of the most successful syndicated shows in history, reportedly earning over $1 billion in revenue since it went off the air, largely thanks to Nick at Nite.
