Today in Television History (September 26th, 1969): The First Episode of "The Brady Bunch" Airs on ABC!
On September 26th, 1969, the first episode of the iconic 70s sitcom, "The Brady Bunch" premiered on ABC. The series followed a family of six children, with three boys and three girls. The series ran for almost five years, with the final episode airing on March 8th, 1974. Although the series was never popular during its original run, it became very successful through syndication after its cancellation. Due to this, many spin-offs and movies were made in the future including "The Brady Bunch Hour" (1976-77), "The Brady Girls Get Married" (1981), and "The Bradys" (1990). In 1997, the season 3, episode 12 episode, "Getting Davy Jones", was ranked as number 37 on "TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All-Time".
