On September 13th, 1985, "Super Mario Bros" was released in Japan for the Famicom game system! The game was ultimately released in North America for the Nintendo Entertainment System, when the system was released on October 18th, 1985. It was the successor to the 1983 Nintendo game, "Mario Bros", and the first game in the "Super Mario" series. "Super Mario Bros" is constantly cited as one of the greatest and most-iconic video games of all time, and is also one of the best-selling video games of all time, with an estimated 58 million copies sold worldwide. It is credited for being one of the key factors in reviving the video game market along with the NES, after the infamous "Video Game Crash of 1983" halted sales of video games in North America.
