Tandy TRS-80 Model 100
RadioShack’s TRS-80 computer line (Unofficially referred to as Trash-80) was already a successful brand when they released the world’s first notebook-style computer, the TRS-80 Model 100. The Model 100 sold for between $1,099 and $1,399 upon release in March 1983. The Model 100 was originally sold in Japan by a company named Kyocera, and was branded as the Kyotronic 85. Because of minimal sales, they sold the rights to the computer to Tandy Corporation, who sold the rebranded computer through North American RadioShack stores. The Model 100 quickly became one of RadioShack’s best-selling products of all time, selling over six million units before its discontinuation.
