American Flyer Trains
American Flyer is a brand of toy train sets that was started by two men, Hafner and Coleman. A.C. Gilbert, who also started the famous building sets, ERECTOR, later bought American Flyer trains and moved them from Chicago to New Haven, CT. American Flyer is best known for their steam engine toys that were made in the 1950's. In 1967, following Gilbert's death, Lionel Trains announced that they had bought the American Flyer brand.
The trains in my collection were my grandfathers from his original set in the 1950's!
