Mattel Power Glove
The Power Glove was an unofficial controller accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System, manufactured and designed by Mattel. It was released in North America in October 1989 for a price of $75, which is equivalent to $194 in 2025. The controller became very well-advertised in the media due to its early motion control mechanics and significant marketing. Unfortunately, though, the Power Glove became a market failure when its two games did not sell well and its controls were found to be difficult to use. It was ultimately discontinued in 1990, after just one year on the market.
