On January 3, 1983, TIME Magazine named the personal computer the “Machine of the Year” for 1982. This marked the first time since the “Man of the Year” Award’s inception in 1927, that a thing other than a human received the award. The article talked about the big personal computer giants of the time: Apple, Commodore, IBM, Sinclair Research, and more! The personal computer remains the only man-made object to receive the award!

There is even an ad in there warning people about the possibility of nuclear war during the Arms Race!
