Max Headroom

Max Headroom

Max Headroom, known as the "first computer generated television host", was played by Matt Frewer. He was known for his commentary, arrogant wit, and his pitch-shifting voice. He was created by 3 people and made his first appearance in the TV film, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future  on April 4, 1985. Max Headroom became so popular that he was featured in a soda commercial and he made an appearance in the 1989 film, Back to the Future Part II, where he appeared in the 80's-style cafe. He eventually had his own television show, titled Max Headroom, from March 31, 1987 until May 05, 1988. 

Max Headroom Signal Hijacking 

On the evening of November 22, 1987, an episode of Doctor Who and the 9 o'clock news were hijacked in Chicago, Illinois. A person in a Max Headroom mask and metal spinning in the background appeared and started doing weird things on screen. The person was never caught.
