Apple ImageWriter Dot-Matrix Printer (1983-1985)

Apple introduced the original ImageWriter on December 1st, 1983, for a price of $675, which is equivalent to $2,131 in 2024. It was essentially a re-packed dot-matrix printer from C. Itoh Electronics, which was released earlier the same year. It was released as a replacement to Apple's parallel-based Apple Dot Matrix Printer, which was released for the Apple II line in 1982. The original ImageWriter was compatible for the original Macintosh 128K, but was ultimately discontinued on December 1st, 1985 in favor of the ImageWriter II.
