Polaroid Electric Eye 850
The Polaroid Electric Eye 850, introduced in 1961, was a luxury instant camera that brought fully automatic point-and-shoot technology to the folding-bellows era. Sporting a massive, polished chrome body, it used a large circular light meter to automatically set the camera's internal speed and lens settings based on the surrounding light. To get a photo, users simply took the picture and waited a full minute before peeling the large black-and-white print directly from the back of the camera, making it a highly advanced masterpiece of mid-century instant photography.
