Connectix QuickCam

Connectix released the original QuickCam to the United States market in 1994, and it was the first commercial webcam device, although it was not originally referred to as a "webcam". The original model, (Seen Here), was initially only available for the Apple Macintosh line. It produced 16 shades of grey (the camera was black and white), and cost $100. The Color QuickCam was released in 1996, and the QuickCam brand was sold to Logitech in 1998.
