Edison

The earliest known recording was not by Thomas Edison. This is a recording of the inventor of record-able audio, Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville in April 1860, 17 years before Thomas Edison made a recording on the Phonograph. You will hear a man singing, then a little girl singing. 

TRIVIA:  These recordings were made on April 20, 1860 however they were unable to be played back until 2008!
