The Peanuts Gang
The "Peanuts" gang, created by Charles M. Schulz in 1950, has become and stayed an important pop-culture icon to this day. Children of multiple generations have grown up with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang! Starting with the comic strips in 1950, and with television specials in 1965 (with "A Charlie Brown Christmas" as the first one), and with movies, the Peanuts gang has a gigantic fan base and gives people of all ages nostalgia as they watch the seasonal specials every year!
Lunch With Snoopy Lunchbox
The "Have Lunch with Snoopy" Thermos lunchbox, released by King-Seeley Thermos in 1968, is a mid-century design icon that marked the transition from traditional rectangular steel boxes to more playful, stylized shapes. This specific set was most famous in its dome-topped metal version and its vibrant yellow plastic counterpart, both featuring a cheerful illustration of Snoopy sitting atop his doghouse enjoying a sandwich. The interior was specially molded to house a matching 8-ounce vacuum-insulated glass thermos, which featured a wrap-around comic strip and a contrasting red or blue plastic cup-cap. While many Peanuts lunchboxes of the era depicted the entire gang, the "Have Lunch with Snoopy" model focused on the simple, solo joy of the world's most famous beagle, making it an instant favorite in elementary school cafeterias across North America. Its durable construction helped it survive the rough-and-tumble of 1970s playgrounds, and today it remains a centerpiece for collectors of Charles Schulz memorabilia, representing the peak of the "Golden Age" of the illustrated lunch kit.
