Steam released the single, Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye), in 1969. It became a number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1969. It was written by Paul Leka, who put together a performing band known as Steam, with people out of Bridgeport Connecticut. My grandfather’s cousin, named Jay Babina, played guitar on the song. It became a sports anthem in 1977, when an organist named Nancy Faust played it at a White Sox game. Today, the song is arguably one of the most iconic and well known songs of all time!
