Apple iBook G3 Clamshell
Apple released the original iBook on July 21, 1999. It cost $1599 at release and was meant to be a lower-cost option than the PowerBook line of laptops. It was modeled after the then, newly released iMac G3, and is considered the first mass market consumer product to have WiFi connectivity capabilities. The original Clamshell model was discontinued in 2001, and was replaced by the rectangle-shaped iBook G3 (Snow).
