Apple iMac G3

After a hard decade without Steve Jobs, Apple bought Jobs’ failing computer company, NeXT, and brought Jobs back to the company. Jobs quickly made the executive decision to eliminate the Apple Newton brand. Jobs’ first major product release after his return to Apple was the first iMac, the G3, on August 15, 1998. The iMac was famously known for its “Five Flavors” campaign, which were five different color options the computer came in to fit each person's personality. The computer originally came in the “Bondi Blue” color, but in 1999, the color options changed to tangerine, grape, lime, blueberry, and strawberry. The iMac G3 played an important role in eliminating outdated technology such as serial ports and floppy disk drives. Instead, the computer used USB connectors and CD-ROM drives. The G3 was also popular in schools, where they were used for elaborate computer labs. The G3 was discontinued on March 18, 2003.
